Maxthon - greatest browser by a long shot
better than FF in almost every aspect like resource util, security, features, adaptability so on.. I even feel the need for porting it on Linux via wine

Beeeeeeeeep- wrong,if u ever tryed firefox or read some of the posts from users that have it u would know that its currently the most secure browser (I havent got spyware or ad-ware for over a year now) and concerning the fetaures and adaptability it has hundreds of extensions, themes and plugins, which are all daily updated...maxthon is based on IEs engine,so that says it all.(hint: active x controls for one)

Anything built on IE is bound to suck, pile whatever you want on it. Dress a piece of shit like a bride, give it a pretty wig and some perfume, it's still a piece of shit. And before you flame back, read the explanation that follows.

I'm not referring to the user interface as such, which is pretty straight forward, I am referring to the Trident render engine and IE's security policies. Normal users may not care about those technical things, but you can thank us web developers that have to break a leg everytime just to make sure your favorite websites display properly in your IE-based browser while we would need a lot less time to get them to work in all other standards-compliant browsers, be that Firefox/Mozilla/Galeon, Safari/Konquerer, Opera, or in some cases even iCab. And that's something that none of the IE-enhancing browsers can change, since they don't change Trident. Trident's last update was in 2001, though it's on a technological standpoint that lies way before that. As for the security aspects, go ask anyone working in IT-support what he thinks of IE. And while Maxthon & Co. might have some added security features, it just goes to prove that IE is inherently flawed. None of the other browsers need this.

IE is a pain in the ass and I can say from a professional opinion that it's a failure in almost every aspect. IE7 looks promising, though the GUI looks horribly messed up. It's as though they took all the good apects of other browsers, put them in a mixer and just splattered the resulting mush onto the screen. I've tried a few standards-compliant websites in the Beta 2 release, and they fall horribly apart. No love for IE here.
