Melodic appeal? You mean, like, In Flames? 
Hmph, in all it's weirdness, i think Opeth's "Damnation" is a pretty good album, definitely worth checking out if you don't like the "AAAARGH AAARGH DIE ASLDHASD" music 
Ooh, and i've recently got into Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction", dunno why, it just catched my ear.

I like a nice healthy music debate. In all honesty, I have not heard of a lot of these bands that you (Necro and Mad) are talking about. I did check out some of the links to stuff. I am not insulting your music. Just wondering if you boys like any bands with melodic appeal? (Necro, in all fairness I know you like yourself some Tori Amos
