Does it use more RAM, CPU, or anything? I can barley run a server and play lol..1.4GHz and 256mb of ram

well alias, since its on your computer, that server has almost constant administration, so dont worry.
i mean, i joined today, and within few seconds you started to talk with me over server console, so obviously you are keeping an eye on it.
for other admins, there are always solutions, and a nice board called "server setup and administration help" where questions can be asked and help given 
and we are doing that now

I was about to look for some FPS tweaks, i'm not usualy there all the time, but mostly I turn it on when I use my computer. And I turn PB on when I sleep to admin it if I leave it on.

problem is that , admins are also part of clans , and clans dont like a lot the idea , of sharing rcon amongst them..
especially that u dont have any certainty that rcon will not spread wider ,to people u dont want them to have it.
My choice is /callvote pb_sv_enable,on HKTDM,HKFREEZE,HKCTF,will be done on other HK servers.on those servers u can callvote pb on,that for obvious aimbotters who are ruining the game...
those servers also make PB off automatically, after server is empty.
ofc , all HK members have rcon of all HK servers ,and are playing often there.
@Rena , from My experience as a server admin,ther is two kinds of players who connect to E+ servers :
1/those who know E+ , E+ spider, E+ forums , etc..(for those u can make punkbuster On , on a server).but..they represent a small amount (like 5% , when u comparing to clients coming to a visible server like HKs , or 2sweets , or DEEX.Etc...)
when i say visible , i mean , visible on ingame browser.
2/and those totally coming from another mod , or starting q3 for the first time.they will NOT connect to a PB and pure server. i tried , tried , and tried....
it is good to make punkbuster on and pure , but u will play there only with your mates ,and..some known players on E+ , and u will attract less new people in the mod.
we need both , pb and pure servers , and no Pure , No punkbuster servers

There must be over 200 full time regular players. Many of which spend countless hours tweaking cfg's. I’m sure all of these can work out how to connect to a pb+pure server.
I agree there will always be unpure and non pb servers for new players to quake and e+ come to play on...(they would be good recruit hunting grounds). I also think the community is big enough to have more pb+pure servers for the regular players to use.
It confuses the hell out of me that we all don’t want to embrace this and instead spend hours moaning about non existent system lag.
Isn’t it about time we took our mod seriously... ?

I disargree with that Wax. Lets use my server as an example, I turn it on and add some bots to it, and than a chain reaction happens.
Addbots --->noobs come --->E+ players come to beat noobs
(E+ Players as in like you, me, HK guys, PHC, people who have and play the mod good)
If I turn PB on, those noobs can't come in to be part of the chain reaction, there will be a hole in it, and i'm sure most E+ players don't really want to play against bots by themselves.
I remember when I was a noob and I started playing the mod, when I saw a PB server, I didn't even give the server a chance because I knew I was gunna get kicked from it. And with PB and Pure on, some noobs might be able to play with PB, but get kicked because they might have a map or something that isn't "pure".
There is no way to tell all the noobies what to do so they can play on the servers if everyone makes them Pure and put Punkbuster on. The servers will lose some traffic from doing this, and it might make Excessive Plus less popular.

if this was a new mod, I would agree, but we need to get passed this, we are a long developed mod and need to treat it like such.....noobs will find a way if they are keen and if not, well they cant be that bothered.....I was once a noob(some say "once" ? and pb- pure never put me off.
When I first couldn’t join, because of pb+pure I though huh wtf?...but within 10 mins I had sorted it...that’s not too much to ask of anyone....
Maybe we could offer a support service to help people work out how to turn on the pc ? and progress to “how to move the mouse”....maybe offer free mouse mats, if they connect to a server with pure within 10 mins ?
I’m not saying all pb+pure either, most players play the same servers but I’m sure as I do venture to the outer rim of servers to see what’s happening form time to time
Its just my opinion there should be more pure servers than non pure 49 % unpure -51 % pure would be nice.
but as it stands its like 5% pure – 95% unpure
that just nuts

sv_pure doesn't cause lag right? I see what your saying, how they can figure out what to do. Maybe someone can find a way to make it say a message on how to fix the problem when they get kicked. I think i'll put pure on, but not PB, i like playing with my friends..who have the same cd key
