One question....
To save a new demo into AVI-format is possible... But:
if a demo is recorded in the usual dm68 format, is it possible to convert this into AVI by Quake?

Yes Iz it is i have a tool that is called Quake III Demo Recorder works pretty good!

An external tool...
Plenty of external tools 4 this.
What I was curious about was if it is possible to convert .dm_68 to .avi without any external tools.

bind F1 "cl_avidemo 30"
bind F2 "cl_avidemo 0"
when u r run demo

Suppose the output filname gets the same as the original but with the .avi extension instead...
