Actually i havent seen a single cheater since pb was turned on. So it cant be that bad.

I see you have an amd64 cpu and unfortunately a better graphics card than me Sad

i was thinking of trying to run quake 3 on a virtual win2k machine but i doubt the opengl will work

do all the time manual updates of pb and make sure that no copyright are on, newst driver and took the smartgart "off" in ur video settings

I think that may have fixed it, why it didnt autoupdate itself baffles the mind.

it seems i spoke too soon, with the new punkbuster files it let me play for a few rounds but then i got a new error Happy
Could this be because of that "smartgart" thing, i'm not too sure what that was ?

on an unrelated matter, does anyone know what commands to use in the autoexec file to force my computer to run in 1280 by 1024 instead of 800 600 ?

some ppl have the pb files write-protected so it cant update aso check out that its not write-protected.

seta r_mode "8" is for 1280x1024

the smartgart is under the features off video card

for the packets try some of this

seta cl_maxpackets "100"
seta rate "25000"
seta snaps "100"
seta cl_packetdup "5"

well thanks for all the advise guys but nothing seemed to work,
my resolution is now sorted tho thx to shibby

luckily tho it seems my whinning has now got punkbuster turned off on some of the servers Big grin

PB can be a pain. Like i went to join a server, played for a few seconds and it says 'You have been banned via punkbuster'

wtf is this about??? y'know?

I never cheat and i make sure lamers who do get banned,
so it does seem... odd to say the least. PB seems to be full of flaws, and as ive read here and on other forums, somtimes kicks/and or bans players for seemingly no reason.
