Hello guy's,

In my baseq3 folder i installed te mega map pack (330 custom maps) and lots of skins.
Now is the problem that only a few maps and skins are shown ingame like if you have Anarki till Xareo, the list is long but stops at Mynx or so. Same problem with the maps.

So i guess quake has a limit of ingame shown models and maps, although it loads all 500 pk3 files at the start and all installed maps are accessible through the console.

Does anybody know how to extend this limit? Hunkmegs, zonemegs, soundmegs etc have no impact on it.

i dunno about extending limit etc. but if i wanna load a file thats not shown in the menus, then i use the commands instead. /map mapname or /model modlename

yes, that is what i meant with the console... only jou have to know the filename.bsp first (okay i know the winzip trick)... and with so manny maps its easyer to explore in the ingame browser i guess?

you can always use the command :
[code:1]\dir [directory] [extension] [/code:1]

Like for example looking for maps :

[code:1]\dir maps bsp [/code:1]

it will list all the bsp maps that were loaded (including the pk3s ones)

as for the limit nop .. you cant do anything about it. its not the hunkmegs or others ... thats a limit that was compiled to be MAX_PAKFILES 1024
in the file code/qcommon/files.c
so you cant have more then this number and cant be changed unless recompiled.

Thanks for the commands, good to know it is a hard limit. I will delete unessecary maps then since recompiling is not something i'm up to do.

Also the ioquake3 1.36 has an enormous framerate drop in comparions to 1.34 rc 4 and the classic quake. So an updated ioquake 3 is not for me eighter.
