Ok guys, since some of u are really good with computers, I thought one of u should be able to help me.
I have a mercury 16x dvd-rom, but when I insert GTA SA (on a dvd cd) it doesnt read it at all.
When I open the My Computer icon, and look at the dvd rom picture, I see the same as always: "DVD ROM" while there should be "GTA: SA".
Does any of u know what I have to do to make it work?
Help would be greatly appreciated Laughing
Thanks in advance,
Lee.

Yes it's copied, but my friend installed it from the same cd, and it works fine.
@Deexgod:
I bought a new pc, and the Mercury 16x DVD-Rom was delivered in it.
I installed windows XP cuz the shop owner told me the version that was on it would expire in a couple of days.
I tried to watch a normal dvd and I've got divX player, but that too doesnt work.
I need to figure out how to get it working cuz why else would I pay for a dvd player if it don't work.
BTW it does play cd's.

with some dvd roms u can't read copied DVD's. I had same problem too some time ago. Funny thing was that once i bought a dvd player (stand alone) and it wouldn't read original DVD's, only pirated ones. Thinking

Also u cant watch a dvd movie with Divx player, get one of these: PowerDVD, Windvd, Inter Actual Player.

Also, could be your dvd rom has the region protection, so you can only use dvd movies that are meant for distribution in your region.

I am proud of spreading a pirated Excessive Plus version and claim to be the original author, yay!

Yea my region is set to holland, which is region 2, my friend also has holland, region2 , so this is not the case:P
Thx for help about the dvd program, I'll download one of those.
If anyone knows what else might be the cause I'm all open for suggestions about how to solve it.

First I installed windows 2000, but then I upgraded to windows XP.
Dunno if this might be the case but it did re-install all the other hardware on the computer...

thats the wright answer. u can try use other DVD disc + or - but i think it wont work anyway. try update firmware in your DVD rom if newer version exists - sometimes is help - after it your device can read more formats then b4.

thats all what u can do i think. ofcourse u can buy new device Happy
