sriam here's the link to my movie. BUT!! Do not click on it coz it wont work, copy/paste it in your address bar then hit enter. For some reason direct linking from that hosting site does not work.

question.

I record a demo, I record the tga files and put into Virtual Dub. What is the best format to save the Avi as? because no matter what format i choose, the avi still looks laggy and with low fps.

depends at how many fps u capture the tgas.
u should have stable fps for that.
the longest and smoothest art of making a capture is the cgaz tgahook, u use timescale 0.1 and do a 1000 fps capture then, a program renders around 25 fps out of this 1000 fps as far as i know.
but capturing takes loooooooooong.
so maybe try out smorgars art of capturing or ask foksie loy. (u might check out the readme of his suddend eath cupmovie.

Use mme. Its simple to use, yet powerfull.

As for saving, it has to be uncompressed avi, no interlace (progressive or linear scan), and use fps depending on export settings.

Most usual is to render the project at 200 fps then save that as 100 fps avi, and then after editing, use 25 fps as final project size.

cuz ur hdd is too slow to play uncompressed avi. After compression movie will be fine.
