Min settings to run Q3 good

hey my friend is having this problem
when usally alot of ppl conect to the sever ping starts to get bad.
also when they press TAB Q3 ping goes to 999 for a while
basically when he does to much with q3 it cant handle it then ping starts to go bad..
he is currently using 800 mhz cpu ,GeForce 2 ti
if anyone has commands out there to put all graphics settings to lowest it may be of some help

tell him to check his background processes too. good chance that something's hogging the resources and causing quake to hang and stuff.
especially since his processors fairly slow, if hes running windows a serious look at tweaking would probly pay off a lot. try www.tweakhound.com (if i remember right)

I used to play on a 700MHZ with a Geforce 3 Ti. I had tweaked my config a lot to have good framerate. You can also use nvHardPage program to get the most performances of your card 
I can send him my config if he wants.

Hope it could helped a bit ... all in all this should be very low settings ... but ultra low isnt = very good anytime ... in some kinds its better to get medium settings for good performance.

ihmo better set optimal value for q3 - com_maxfps 125, with good setting he will get 125 fps on his pc

maxpackets is command for set how many packets u will send to server, so dn speed isnt important here. On normal adsl with 128 kbits upload u can use cl_maxpackets 125.
most importand command what base forgot is: r_mode - its for set resotion in q3. recommendet is r_mode 3 - 640x480

Dunno what u have heared out this line ... it isnt meaned like yey i got 600kb/s down i could take 125fps omg ... here in Germany our internet is called that way 6mbit charge - 2mbit charge - 100mbit charge ... so it wasnt a way to show everyone that i got enough download, just wanted to show rage the relations of my sets (which run pretty well here).

Its a normal menue graphics setting so i think it isnt mentionable cause its a friend of zack and he knows that things iam very sure 
Second thing cause i didnt wrote anything about it is that iam not 100% sure about the different numbers ... i know 8 = 1280 x 1024 but i wasnt sure about the other, thx for completing my post
