Try with ioquake, it's a bit complicated for Mac but its doable. If i remember correctly [for Q3] you need point release 1.32 for Mac os x, then copy the original pak0.pk3 in the folder then excessiveplus etc. But pb wont work and sound will be fucked up.With IOquake you just copy excessiveplus folder in app. Right click on ioquake.app -> show more content(i think) and copy there. And mouse movement will also be completly screwed.

first off all, mac isnt a OS where you can game nice on because its not build for such feateres, go back to win XP Tongue
