And there's this old truth too, than there is always someone better, no matter how good you are. Even people like Hard sometimes lose too, and the ability to metaphorically shake hands with your victor is one of the virtues that define a good player, imho.

Before the best became the best the best lost? When someone beat the best someone becomes the best and the best becomes someone. Then someone play the best a few times again and perhaps someone succeed in betaing the best, then it all starts over again.
