My favorite movies:

Hero (2002) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_(2002_film)

House of Flying Daggers (2004) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Flying_Daggers

As Good as It Gets (1997) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_Good_as_It_Gets

Her (2013) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Her_(film)

Ex Machina (2015) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex_Machina_(film)

Perfetti sconosciuti (2016) www.imdb.com/title/tt4901306/

GoGoRiki / Kikoriki / Смешарики (series) ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Смешарики

These two are definitely worth the time. The in-depth ideas and unpredictability of Ex Machina and the same unpredictability spiced with tension, twisted around the human-2-human(p2p) behavior are excellent pieces of work.

As from me, I would suggest:

- The salvation (2014)

- American psycho (2000) (for those who haven't watched it yet, Christian Bale's talent in its best)

- Taboo (2017) - new HBO TV series, Tom Hardy impressed me, at least after 2 episodes. It looks very promising.

- "3%" - A Brazilian TV show by Netflix. 1 season is out so far, definitely worth watching.

- I think someone mentioned "Arrival" in other post. One of the top 3 movies of 2016. In the beginning it looks like the regular "sci-fi alien attacks us" movie, but what comes next... definitely one of the most original movies I've seen in recent years.

p.s. The one genre I wouldn't miss even a bit is musical. Screw that. La La Land is astonishing. The charm this movie has is amazing. The casting is phenomenal. And trust me, I really don't like musicals Tongue

"...War brings death... and wounds and pain to both sides... there's nothing harder to accept than the deaths of those you love... so you believe... they could never die... especially those who haven't known war... you try to find meaning in death... but... there's only pain... and hatred... that you don't know what to do with...dying like trash... neverending hatred... pain that never heals... that.. is war..." You should see the latest (last?) Resident Evil movie. Milla Jovovich has a good time, whereas you kind of guess Kate Beckinsale hates the entire series.
