over the last 2 days i am getting sporadic lag spikes only on ex+servers. i even removed ex+ with same result. what the hell?? any ideas?

It could be a number of things, dsl connections do this offten when the ip changes. If you visit porn sites or anything of that matter stuff installs causing your comp to run slower in general. Who knows, when is the last time you blew the dust out of your computer? Cat chewing on your network wire... wireless network, to far away from the gateway? Maybe you have the same problem i have and cant pay attention to the game and it just seems like it's slow....... are you using a Dell? That has nothing to do with it but i just like to ask.

I am also new to this mod, and have been receiving alot of ping spikes myself. Alot of it, I think is the server's location versus ur location. Plus we have to take in account the settings each server has. I have been told to try adjusting ur rate to match server's, and also try adjusting snaps/packets. Being that most are unlagged servers, and being that the admin has it turned on, alot of times you need to adjust settings in ur config to allow full utilization of unlagged code. I know when I played 1.32 excessive unlagged, I always needed to adjust weapon optimization for instant hit weapons and so on.. Many settings to contend with. It is a possiblity that ur ISP is like mine also. Which BTW sux ass!!!! Certain server's always have ci's for me, alot because of location and hops to server. But the speed that is regulated by ur ISP has more to do with it.... They get greedy alot and cap you below the actual speeds you should be running.
Hell... I am paying for 3 megs down, 256 up, and it feels like frickin' 128k down!!!!!! Try adjusting settings or find another config already setup for excessive plus, man. If I find something useful I will give ya a holler...
