also please quit all the programs that you dont need before getting into quake 3..

esspecialy those that require internet .. torrents/ weather cast/ internet browser... and also try to quit your winamp Happy
it helped me a lot !

hello

friend of mine had this issue (might have been caused by something different though)

after an online antivirus scan, antispyware and registry cleanup, it was much better.
(also try windows' disk defragmenter)

only a good old c: format did the trick totally for my friend anyways lol

ôhh i have this problem too... i really go mad soon.
i play allways with a 32 ping but in the last few weeks i have lags. i get a ping of 200 or a loss of 3-18 or both every minute for about 10-20sec. i really dont know what to do... could it be that this is cased by e+ 2.0 version... because i cant remember this error before. if someone solved the problem plz post here. thx

try cl_maxpackets 63 .. and also increase your hunkmegs to a bigger value like \com_hunkmegs 196

also check with other \snaps values like 20-40, 60 - 80 to check if the 6-7 sec period will decrease.

i try all out and only cl_maxpackets 63 helps. thanks fot this. snaps was 60 and as i change it i get more lag so 60 is fine to me.

i still have lags but very short like i have before too. for example if i want shot and the enemy is in front of me the lag comes as i try to shot... the result is: i stand in front of the enemy and dont shot... very sad Sad
(btw: i allways close every app while i play)
