yea nice old schools.
as nowadays the majority do, it just would be a shock to you after you hear any recordings you used to hear via those cars head units or HTs no matter what phones you got trying the players shown here, since the sound processor/player has more than 75% of the sound clarity+fun.
i still to this day feel the same shock level every time i turn on any of my units!

decent combinations there specially the Westones, while some units are made to heighten the excitement and others special to preserve lossless, any light (more portable) player mentioned can give you a mix of maximum fun and maximum naturalistic amplification of recordings with any bitrate files you got!

Edit: hate to criticize, just never mention Ipods or any apple to me, you just exhausting your amplifier and Westones!
try an HD1, first 1 minute you hear .. your neighbors window will speak your Ipod's name!
