mine 20 seconds Big grin i work optimizing pc's everyday so .. this is like my all time job Happy

amd 1.6ghz sometimes i overclock to 2.0 200mhz

512 ram pc3200

80gb hard disk

64mb video card Happy

Win xp sp1 .. 2 lazy for sp2

Tell u a secret boys ... New hard drive ... new pc ...

about 5 minutes to start. i have 48 processes and they take up 76% of my proc Big grin

most of them are spyware and trojans and viruses Big grin

i have to shutdown just about everything in order to make my q3 run in more that 20 fps on 640*480*16.

and i have a 1,8 duron, 9200 with 128mb ram and 256 ddr on 400mhz.

go figure Big grin

ok than, so how to make your quake run faster. i mean that to run q3 faster, or wen the map changes to next.
because i found that my q3 got slower and players connect to server after map restart are in before me grrrrrrrrr

well i do have nod and adaware, thats why i only have so little viruses. Big grin

the only ones that remain are those nasty buggers that took over some critical system procs, so i have to shut down those (like tcpvsc or svchost). im just plain too lazy to reinstall winz and get rid of them, but heeey Big grin

and when we are at the "making q3 go faster" part, is there a way to get all textures really low in resolution, so that they look like single color. i know i had that a long time ago when i was hitting q2 online, and would sure like that in q3 :twisted:

A-a man,there is something deffinetly wrong here if that system cant run a old game like q3 in more then 20 fps on 640x480x16 Shock :roll: And it would need a little (or plenty Happy system optimising and maybe a little overclocking Winking Btw,what windows,graphic card drivers u use,did u go by the steps of first installing mainboard drivers after win installation,then graphic card driv?

fixed that. one process whas eating all my q3 performance , it goes in 400 fps now Happy ive limited it to 125 though (for strafe jumping Laughing
