FPS similar to E+

Hey,
in all my years of pro-gaming for money i never had more fun in a game than in e+. The problem with this game/mod is that atm there are only like 6 semi-active clans on each cfg-type (plus, railonly) around. I still love to play a few games on beer.freeze and stuff but i rly miss the more active times...
i was wondering, is there any game outside that plays similar or similarly awesome than e+? i dont wanna go around testing everything so i hope u have some suggestions for me.
I ofc tried CS (years ago^^) but it was too slow for me.
UT (years ago) as well.
Half Life Multiplayer was awesome but even less crowded than e+.
Black Ops is the newest i've tried and although it played pretty fast it was too arcadestyle to me (in e+ thats not a prob, cuz the setting is completely different i guess^^).
There was also one pretty quake-similar game, warsow or sth, but it wasnt that awesome either...

i dont mean to lure all the ppl off e+ Big grin just want some alternative to play and i guess some if not most of u play sth else besides this.

despite quake 3 i really like bf3 (never imagined i d like it Tongue)

Yeah bunch of us play Battlefield 3. If you have some friend who has it go and try it. Theres also something new coming out soon i think its called Shootmania. Check that out. Try CPMA ofc, movement there is awesome. Guild Wars 2 coming out 28.08. and Borderlands 2. I'll defo but GW2, maybe not on release date but later for sure. Cheers mate.

tf2 has multijumps if u play scout, rocket jumps if u play soldier and grenade jumps if u play demoman. L4D 2 is fun if u play with friends. Also i tryed Killing floor, but iam a nab in there. Many playing bf3 now and best action i ever played is bad company 2

I dont think there is something similar to E+ out there, or similar to quake in general...there is no games and never will be, something like quake alike.
Shotmania...im sure many ppl will dislike that game (: as many of my friends said that alredy.
l4d2 is fun to play with friends for sure.
bf3 never tried that game, pc sux....

just my opinion.

Tribes Ascend. It has pretty fast gameplay, but it's played totally different than quake other than the weapons for the most part. The most commonly played gametype is Capture the Flag, but it also has Team Deathmatch and a few others. Instead of strafe jumping, you move throughout most of the large open maps through skiing which was an adopted mechanic from the first Tribes game. Also jetpacks. I'd recommended looking it up on YouTube or something before trying it out though.

Other than that, there's the new Nexuiz, I tried the beta but personally didn't like it. It feels similar to Painkiller, but it has the old Nexuiz weapons. Its also running on the CryTek engine, which shouldn't be used for a competitive fps imo. There's then Blacklight Retribution, similar to CoD I guess but with a cyberpunk feel and aesthetic.

Dangerously cheesy.
