clean instalation e+ 2.2a at linux system
'new console' i saw only at first map, after that console looks like this

The fancy console does not work in combination with sv_pure. It tires to disable on a pure server, however this only happens partially. Just disable it if you play regularly on such servers /xp_drawConsole 0.

Will be fixed in the next major release (~next year).
