for gnt, players are pretty split, there are enough germans around, but sametime they are either not interested in competition or not willed to team up with the other guys.

Making a team out of the left over people is a good idea, the question is who to lead that team? national teams are a ranking greyzone, since they are not created by the country not by the event organisers, the players have to organise themself and this is causing rage between players.

If we would have some kind of ranking for the best players of a nation we could simply say best 8 are to play, which would create some kind of funny competition.

Anyways, since we don't have that and we should not outsource the list of players to event organisers or rank you guys need to think of a proper solution yourself.

Sarcasm aside, I see what the point is here, affording people the opportunity to play in the country vs country system, but think how this would look to you in any other sport or competitive circle, the olympics for example. It just doesn't sit right.

Well, I agree with you, it doesn't fit, but it depends on the way you look at it, the way the "community/mods/judges/ who ever organizes this cup" looks at it. I look at it as an opportunity to play competitive games/wars/skrims which is different than public gaming, for people who don't have any other way to do so ( no clan/team/national team ).
Another circle, UN vs Lybia? Far fetched I know, but it rang a bell. ( as long as it's for a "good cause" )
