Hi.

I want to make a dedicated games server, but i have no idea how.

ive found a website that might tell me what to do.

1: How many servers could you get with 50-100 gb

2: how do you configer all of the small dedtails (Such as removing weapons multijump)

3: Can i use my web server to run a games server?

4: is my website what i need (Url below)

holla, dont get it, what u means talking about server, the server is yors ? u talking about hardware (PC/server) or software (web space for yours page)

to host a q3 server u need run on PC/SERVER a quake3 game.

I get my server from a place called server4you.

I have 100GB worth of bandwidth (Amount of packets of info you can send)

My server is linux based.

A: Your web site host is unable to host a game server unless you make arangments with the administrator.

A: You will want to look at your cfg files found at C:/program files/quake III Arena/excessiveplus/conf/****.cfg. A full instruction manual that will tell you how to edit every server related issue can be found at C:/program files/quake III Arena/excessiveplus/docs/index.html

It sounds like you want to play with everything the qorld of quake III arena and the excessiveplus mod has to offer, and you want to share it with the world.

This is good but your best bet is to learn how to edit all the mods files to your liking and hope people will stay on your server. Otherwise if you finding yourself paying a sum of money a month and no one wants to play in your server it's just a waste.

I have a unique configuration and there is a hand full of people that actully like to play in my server, so for me it's not worth $50 a month for some game hosting company to host my crappy server.

I just host from home, and i suggest you do the same untill you make your mind up on exactilly what you want to do.

Take a look at the instruction manual and if you have any more questions the crew here at excessiveplus will be glad to help you out.

Than again if you want i'll set up a full time server you can have full controle over with remote controle software for $50 a month.... Winking 12 slot server...
