[Closed] sv_max[red|blue]?Players
Hello,
there is already a cvar which limits the number of players in server sv_maxClients
I propose something to limit the number of players playing in game
I think it's easy to implement :
sv_maxPlayers
- limits the number of players playing. default 0 = unlimited
That means if sv_maxClients is 16 and sv_maxPlayers = 7 :
- in FFA there could be 7players and 9specs at max
- in team based there could be 7 players in each team at max + 2specs not 8vs6 or 10vs4.
sv_maxRedPlayers
- limits the number of players playing in red team. default 0 = takes sv_maxPlayers value
this cvar is prior to sv_maxPlayers when set.
sv_maxBluePlayers
- limits the number of players playing in blue team. default 0 = takes sv_maxPlayers value
this cvar is prior to sv_maxPlayers when set.
the purpose of sv_maxPlayers is to be able in fws/cws to fix the number of players and no one joins and make game unfair by accident or anyway.
It has also objective to limit players playing in some maps such as q3dm6 in public servers
the purpose of sv_maxRedPlayers and sv_maxBluePlayers is to be able in some cfgs to have kinda 4vs8, 2vs12(bots) etc...
NOTE :all those cvar should be working in all xp_matchmodes.

I would find it better to not allow somehow serverside, that a team cant have more than 1 player more than the other team, to avoid any 6v4, 5v3, 4v2 etc.

These commands superfluous, imo. What for it's necessary to add more commands, if they already there.

g_maxGameClients = max number of playing clients
g_maxTeamClients = max number of playing clients on each team
g_teamForceBalance = do not allow a team to have more than 2 players than the other team
