After todays training which started out horribly but we actually got 5 people there eventually we have discussed some rules we should apply to the clan.

I would never even consider kicking a member out of clan unless he is cheating or beeing extremelly offensive (like racist or stuff like that). However, it is kinda unfair to the ones that ARE coming to practice if they have to stay out of CW's and the like for people that are NEVER at practice.

SO. From now on, if you want to play CW, you come to practice. You dont have to come to EVERY practice of course but please, if you plan to be in the CW part of the guild, let me know if you have good reasons not to come to practice.

The guild will have well.. not really sections but kinda. One part that plays CW's and one part that wears the tag and makes us proud out on the FFA/Freeze and so on servers. It wont have ANYTHING to do with your skill as a player, only factor is practice sessions. So if you find yourself beeing part of the non CW members, just start showing up at some trainings.

Beeing a "non CW" member doesnt mean you can NEVER play a CW but CW members come first.

The reason for this is simply that the training sessions are kinda dying. its usually same 4 people, me, un, pan and szpak. And latelly Fuser trying to connect half the training session Happy It wouldnt be fair to them if their devotion to the guild didnt pay off in more playing at the CW's.

This might seem a bit unfair to some persons that were very active in the clan and sessions and so on earlier, like rudz for example but well, rudz, you got to play all matches in all cw's in league too Happy

This new rule come to effect next practice session (wednesday 3/11 at 21:00) and in the meanwhile i will be looking for an opponent for a 2 match ClanWar. 1 map RTF, 1 map TDM and 1 map Freeze. First one team picks all 3 maps. Then next match other team picks all 3 maps.

I think it's a good rule wich is acceptable for all.

But:
Also i want to point out that it is important when we think about the size of genx clan ...we can't go around counting inactive members. I dont know if this is sometimes done but it's not very good to overestimate clan size in my opinion.
what I want to address here is that if we count active members
we are Bo, Pan , Fuser, Timm, szpak and me. ...thats 7
sub will ofcause return some day ..
Every time we train we have to invite GOQ's to train with us to
be enough to have decent training.
ofcause this is also OK ..but I would rather see maybe 8 - 10 genx members every training.

I mean we have a problem that not many show up to training and we
dont want to kick members because of that.

I see 2 solutions :
first : as Bo has written we keep current active member count as it is now and place a "CW carrot" in order to make people come to training,
hoping that everyone will show up.
second: We increase member count to ensure that we can have a decent number of people when training. (the big problem is ofcause here that what do we do if 15 members suddenly showed up)

I, personally is in favour of solution number 2 ...but sure let's try fist solution first.

Lastly, I dont quite follow ur idea Bo, of what genx is all about.
I mean u dont want to kick people and I can follow that, I dont wont
to either. But at the same time inactive members can represent genx by means of the tag. I really dont mind that because we have very good inactive members......i just need a good reason for why it is this way because i find it a little odd. What would u for instance compare genx
with. Are we distributing lables to people ..or ???

I know that if i one day wanted to stop playing or maybe jsut play a little, I would probably take off my tag because i wouldn't feel that i was doing any job or anythig benefitting for genx.

Is it just me that are strange or ????

No, I am not distributing labels. The persons that are inactive today were very active earlier. Refused, Sub Xaero and rudz showed up for most trainings and most cw's for example. Those members that are inactive today has *all* been active in the clan and all its workings thats why they deserve to keep the tag as long as they wish. I come from a different kind of community than the shooter gaming community. I have been an active member of the MMORPG Arena for no less than 8 years and what exists there and is lacking a bit in the shooter genre is the "family" atmosphere, in MMORPG its less competition and more family.

I consider gen.X a "family" type clan where we don't *only* play to win but also can keep in touch on these forums even if we don't activelly play q3 anymore. That said I still think we should thrive to be the *best* clan out there via smart recruiting and practice sessions and clanswars. I just don't think that one has to rule out the other. We can still be the best clan and have inactive members.

And it has been a standing rule since we started gen.X (This clan wouldnt exist otherwise) that members of gen.X are not *required* to come to practice sessions. Come if you can still apply, but to reward those that actually show up at practice they get first shot at playing in the clanwars.

And you forgot Diesel, he is quite active considering he has a child incoming in a matter of weeks Happy

Lastly, your second solutions is something that ofcourse should apply too. I just think we wait 2 weeks before starting to recruit activelly again and see how this new rule works out. If for example rudz and snemann starts playing more activelly again (new rule or not) that would be a great benefit for the clan and we got at least one new member that can haul ass. And StikkaN might wanna rejoin again and quit the CA clan that he is in now since they dont allow crossclan membership, even though genx is another mod.

But well, if say.. Zunam decides to finally join us.. just say welcome and tag him Happy

oooh.. P.S with the new pb settings there will be less worrying about cheaters, they find ogc, shin akuma and monkey bots! D.S.

concidering Stikkan - I dont think he is worthy enough to join GenX. Well ... perhaps he will get better but ... in the other hand ... he is quite old and rusted Happy (sorry bo Winking )... so ... think twice before we let him join Tongue

yes i forgot diesell ..(sorry about that diesell).

Maybe i was a bit pissed when writing the later post, but that is because I
care about training.
I dont thing that I am equipped with a special quake3 gene, therefore
i need to train.

And it's very positive that bp now can detect waht it couldn't before.
