I would like to help this community to develop with better players and so on.
This is a cfg guide that gives u information that might be useful for especially new players to q3 that wants some help.

Alien wrote this guide and its good information.

"First part, will focus on playability.

cg_bobPitch: Makes the cursor bumb around at movement, set to 0
cg_bobRoll: Makes the cursor bumb around at movement, set to 0
cg_runRoll: Makes the cursor bumb around at movement, set to 0
cg_runPitch: Makes the cursor bumb around at movement, set to 0

cg_bobUp: Makes the cursor bumb around when hit by enemy, cheat protected, so you cant change it.

cg_noProjectileTrail: Determines if there is smoke coming behind missiles, set to 1. (Note that 1 will take away the smoke, not the other way around.)

cg_centerTime: Determines if big messages are shown in the screen, like "YOU FRAGGED [mr.]Ogre!" and FIGHT!. Set to 0, will take them away.

cg_drawGun: Determines if the weapon is shown on the screen. There is no need for this and it blocks a very large part of the screen and is generally distracting, set to 0. When you have played without the gun showing for a few hours you will allways know which weapon is activated at the moment anyway.

cg_drawStatus: Determines if the status of health, ammo, armour and so on is shown in the bottom part of the screen. There is absolutly no need to have this in excessiveplus, most weapons are instagib anyway, the ammo virtually never runs out. And the colour of the crosshair (white=good,yellow=average,red=critical) shows your approx health anyway. Takes alot of framerates to, so set this to 0.

cg_notaunt: Set to 1 to take away the waving of arms and other anoying stuff.

cg_gibs: Makes the enemy splatter allover the screen and block your view, and takes alot of framerates. Set it to 0.

com_blood: Makes you see red spots of blood on the enemy when you shoot them with machine gun and so on. It is usefull to have since it makes it more easy to kill with the machinegun and lightninggun. Set to 1.

cg_trueLightning: set it to 1, ALOT easier to aim with Lightning gun then.

cg_shadows: No need for that, and takes much frames, set to 0.

r_gamma: Determines the brightness of the screen, I have mine on 1.5

cg_fov: Determines the field of view, the more you have the more you can see, but the higher you set it to the harder it is to hit with the railgun. I use 90 (default). I recommend a maximum value of 110.

cg_sensitivity: How fast the mouse moves, a low setting gives more precision.

Xp_noSnow: Takes away the snow in freez tag if you set it to 1, do it!

xp_enemyModel: The model of your enemies in tdm, ctf and freez tag. I recommend keel (xp_enemyModel keel), since keel is very large and have very uniqe footsteps, so you can easily determine if it's a friend or foe you hear commin around the corner.

xp_enemyColors: The colour of your foes in tdm, ctf and freeztag. I use bright yellow which is 6666. (xp_enemyColors 6666).

Ok, here is the secondpart. Will be very small and focus on crosshair.

cg_drawcrosshair: Determines the style of the crosshair, 5 is best. (cg_drawcrosshair 5).

cg_crosshairsize: Determines the size of the crosshair, with style 5 size 45 or 50 is best imo.

to add for the crosshair part:

/set xp_crosshairColor x
(where "x" is a number)

!note. xp_crosshairColor cant be used if cg_crosshairhealth is set to 1

gj hard

is there any command that can take away the blast on rocket, bfg. grenade, etc impact? U know, the visual effect when they hit something. That annoys me so much!

ehh... cl_Mouseaccel 4 is WAY to high.. I use 0.6, but of course this depends on what mouse u use.

Exactly. mouseaccel and sensitivity is something you have to experiment with yourself to find the settings that suits you best.
