I have a DELL 8100 and I want 2 buy RAM, I know i have Rambus RAM and its expenisve. look what this says, off the dell webosite

I have 4 slots, that is telling my that if I get new RAM i have 2 take out the RAM i have now, so than still only 2 slots r filled, could the other 2 slots in my DELL 8100 pc be DDR, I have a 64 meg DDR NVIDIA GeForce 2 ultra, so DDR was around when I bought my pc in 2001.

We cant shatter when we fall off 100mile clifs Shock

I dont think its a typeo, i might have 2 Rambus RAM slots and 2 DDR slots, any know how 2 tell?

We cant shatter when we fall off 100mile clifs Shock

Just borrow some ddr memory and test it5 nothing can go wrong.

SO just buy 2 128 sticks of memory and don't remove the ones you already have so you'll have the512mb you want.

I have 2 64s not 1 128, and I think i have 2 Rambus RAM slots and 2 DDR RAM slots but I dont know the SPEED and PIN# for the DDR slots if I have them

Hello,

First a slap ...thats what U get for buying DELL hahaha
I'm not a DELL lover by any means.

From my working experience with DELL (thanks to work), the best thing to look at is go to DELL website

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/upgrades/en/hub?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

input your info, serice tag number is the best to enter, then go to upgrade and see what it shows you. If that doesn't answer question then search there knowledge area or call them up and get some broken english speaking person to talk too.

i looked at the Dell website but the RAM they have is $500 for 1 stick of 512megs, so I need 2 sticks for my PC 2 work since I have at least 2 slots of Rambus RAM and mabey 2 of DDR so I would need $1000 and I could buy a new pc with 1gig of RAM with less than $1000, so im not going 2 do it. Is it posible that I could have 2 Rambus RAM slots and 2 DDR RAM slots?
