Best cfg resolution for geforce 2!

Hi guys..I set an old pc for my best friend... pentinum 4 2ghz 512 ram and geforce 2 64 mb agp 4 x.. my question is any one can help me to make a better cfg to can play at quake with this old pc? now i set vertex at 1 no blood fastsky no snow picmip at 6 no marks ....seta r_mode "6"seta r_fullscreen "1"seta r_customwidth "1024"seta r_customheight "768"seta r_customaspect "1" i know there a lot of settings more... at this moment fps move from 100...125 to 40 60.... ah another info, connection is little high with ping at 83 90 and in others pc's of mine my ping is 68 72...Sorry for my bad english but i don't like translators Big grin

get cfg from delight/tanaka from topic about configs (send your config here or similar name)
his cfg is rly lightweight for pc.

thanks bene.... i use in this moment ubuntu 10.04 but i think this pc need a light linux distro like debian xfce or other

just install fluxbox / evilWM and run sesion with it when you want to run quake there Tongue should help a little (archlinux is quite fast and simple distro)

where the hell you got a geforce 2 from? Chatterbox worst i have laying around are 2 geforce 4 ti :\

ps: run with lower resolution, honestly. Remember that some stuff like picmip only reduces gfxram useage.

in the old days when i had gf 2 mx 400 (my first pc card) i used 800x600.

there were also gf 2 gts, gf 2 ultra, gf 2 ti, gf2 pro and gf 2 go.. i dont know which one you have but this image shows the fps for some of the gf2 models in Q3 @1024x768: (detonator v2 and v3 were the nvidia drivers in that time)

I still got my Diamond Viper V550 which has a Riva TNT chip. This was the card I used to play Q3 with back in 1999. Smug

I still have my P2 266 mhz with two whopping Voodoo2 cards in it, works like a charm Big grin
