27. August 2007., at 00.30 hours take look at sky. Planet Mars will be most shining object on stellar sky. Will be big as full moon. That will be happened 27. August half hour after midnight. Mars will be at shortest distance to the Earth at 34,65 millions miles.
Don't miss that event ! Only with eye you will see two moons !!!
That will be lifetime opportunity to see that.
Much has been made of the fact that the August 27th encounter with Mars is the closest in some 60,000 years. Neanderthals were the last to observe Mars so favorably placed. This is true.

On 27 August 2003 they will pass at a distance of 55,760,000 km or 0.3727 AU (1 AU is the distance of the Earth from the Sun), closer than any time during the last 60,000 years.
