I have absoultely no issues with PB on Linux, either client or server. Why can't you join, do you get any error message?

i can join, but im kicked/banned by pb after about 3 seconds (dont know reason, cant read that fast Winking), therefore i have ban on all 2|sweet pb_enabled servers...

as long as the servers stay non-pb (bro servers, 2|s-ctf, area51..) its not a big problem for me, so im already happy that not all servers a pb_enabled (i dont mind what you do while cw when its disabled after Winking)

Could just be your cd-key, if its not an original copy of quake, your cd-key might be blacklisted.

/rcon pb_sv_extchar 1 that will allow extended chars in names.
