We used to do these in school alot too:

Yes, La Bomba I remember watching slalom when I was a kid... have no idea where... awful conditions - wind, foggy, the track was on nightmare level itself even without the weather conditions. Most of the skiers were only trying to finish the race. Many of them missed a gate or slumped. And out of nowhere - Tomba la Bomba starts - going through the gates like a fury lol, the man was skiing as if he had nightvision and cheat : no_fall 1 Beat the crap out of the competition, winning with 3 point something seconds advantage clear of the second place. Beyond the 20th skier or some place like that, the difference was more than a minute! Literally - more than a minute ! 60 seconds! In slalom! Amazing. Story of his own

In addition to the topic, another flashback from the 90s from the sport I'll never forget, watched it in live back in '97, remarkable moment for me :
