1vs1 Standings Rank

There is now a 1vs1 Standings Rank.
This is where people fight and challenge each other to positions on the rank.

Your scores obtained from each other WILL go towards the 'Official Skills Rank'.

There is the 'Official Skills Rank' & 'Standings Rank'. - Dont get Confused!
This Rank is an ADDITION to the Official Rank - It is optional.

You must sign your name for the Standings Rank via PM to term or Foksie if you wish to compete

Ok, this system is an extension of the official rank, and all games played under it will be ranked in the official rank as well.

people who are interested have to aply again specificaly for that ranking (info on site) and play under specific strict rules. also each player will almost certanly be required to play at least one game a week, so it requires a bit more work on the players part.

link to the site is in Terms post, check the rules, and you can ask questions here. Ill reply as soon as possible.

If you want to play in the first round wich starts next week on sunday, you have time to send me aplications until saturday 23:59 CET (21:59 GMT).

after that date all people who aply will be joining the rank on the bottom, and have to work their way up.

this is what aplication should contain:

    forum user name (its the name you use to login) name you use in game, written in caps (ex {D*R*T} FOKSIE'LOY)
    contact info. email and at least one instant messanger (preferably MSN).

please pm the aplications to me, dont post here.

ill post more info about how to challange players and so after i get a few aplications.

ok i got several aplications, so ill explain a bit now.

i guess most got this kind off expression on thir face -> Shock <- when they first saw the rules.
dont worry, you dont even have to understand them. Happy

heres how it works, in simple explanation, of course, with an example.

every week players gets to send me their "challanged list". then i use the list to generate games that need to be played using the rules on site.

just keep in mind the following:

    you dont have to challange (if you dont have time for example) you challange only people above you on list.
    if you challange someone whome you cant, dont worry, it will be ignored (no penalty)
    the less people you challange with effect, the more chance you have to play them.

example:

lets say you are 5th on the list. you can challange anyone from 1st to 4th position. but then you remember the more people you challange, less chance you get the game. you also know that people above you will challange too. and they have advantage in doing so.

so you decide to challange the 4th player on list. you are almost guaranteed you get to play him. you would probably get a chance to play 3rd player too, but you decide hes a bit too tough yet.

and thats it, after you challanged people you want, i will post a list of games each player has to play. games marked red will be mandatory, not playing them means you forfiet.

ive been asked via PM to explain "guarding the position" a bit more.

people will soon start taking vacations, and they dont want to loose rank, of course Happy

all you need to know is (without understanding ll the fine points of priority) is that when you decide to guard your position, it means for the first week (often first two weeks) people wont be able to challange you. UNLESS they risk it all out and play several games guarding their own rank.

in most cases when you guard your position and leave for, lets say, one month vacation, you should come back and find you lost only one or max two positions, and now have your chance to win them back (you will probably be the first on the list to challange that position back).

ok, any other questions you can always ask here, or via pm, and ill do my best to answer.

also, remember people, you have time till saturday to join this ranking, if you dont by then you will start on bottom and have to work your way up. Happy

site updated again. also an announcement:

I am looking for people that have some spare time to help me out with some aspects of 1v1 standings organization.

Most notably im after:

    someone to write descriptions of fights. someone to browse the fights and write down times when good frags hapen (i mean really good ones)
    someone to check the site ocassionaly for broken links, and bad or obsolete info.

You dont have to do it all the time, even if you aply. So for example if you can help only once in 4 weeks, i would be more than happy for that help. If you are interested contact me via PM on forum.

edit: if the page doesnt seem updated, reload it. since it is curently on drt FTP, it gets cached in most browsers, and has to be reloaded forcefully to update.
