German football has a promissing future...

... soon...

In the shadow of the big European leagues, like the Premier League or the Primera Division some stars were born and will bring a nation a lot of fun: Germany! Except Spain, of course, there is no nation with such a good perspective for the next years.

Therefore the German players are often underestimated! Even before last year, there were no top players from Germany in a foreign league (Except maybe Ballack). Just while the World Cup Sami Khedira and Mesut Özil switched to Real Madrid and promised a bright future. Also a Thomas Müller, before the World Cup he was still unknown, shot himself at the World Cup to a player with international class. Since the World Cup it still happened more. Many players were brought up into the circle of the successful national team. The most prominent names: Mario Götze, just became champion of the “Bundesliga” with Borussia Dortmund and Andre Schürrle who was a big factor for Mainz 05 which had the most successfull season ever in their history.

With the new and old players in the game of the German team since the World Cup has changed again. Germany plays attractive attacking football, no wonder the younker Mario Götze received nicknames like Götzinho or El Götzia to point to the Brazilian style. But whether Götzinho or El Götzia, one thing is certain: Multi-cultural Germany will play multi-cultural football and not trying to imitate the style of a different nation. Although Spain is a great role model for the playground, but it is based not only on a neat short passing game, but also put emphasis on keeping the ball and dribbling fast, at this point to play like Brazil. Not to forget the German discipline and pressing.

With the new game culture there is also a new system. To see it in the game against Brazil (3-2, 10:08:11) in Stuttgart.

Germany played the first time with a 4-1-4-1 with Schweinsteiger as the sole 6. Risky, Schweinsteiger, not known for his strong duel-values, but rather for this tactical understanding. In front of him the young guys like Kroos, Götze and Müller and on the other hand the old farts like Podolski (27!) who was replaced after the break by Andre Schürle to complete the kids latch. Germany surprised in this game with a tremendous presence and dominance. That the was just one player on the def-midfiel had no real weight since brazil was pushed too far into their own half. The modern way of playing, to allows dominate the opponents, without the formerly as fighting machines known German players of the past. thereby Schweinsteiger had a really good reference to the game with a penalty goal and a world-class assist. Spain did show how how to play with people like Xavi or Iniesta, which are also no fighting machines.

Despite the new system, which allows 4 offensive players behind the goalgetter which leads to the questions “who should play now?”. With Özil, Kroos, Mueller, Gotze, Schürrle, Podolski, Holtby and Draxler and you have eight (!) People for four positions, in addition there are Aydin and Aycicek who convinced at the U17. Also for the striker position, beside Klose and Gomes there are Petersen, Hemles, Cacau, Yesil (U17 as well) and Schieber. And for the def midfield there are Schweinsteiger and Khedira with Gündogan, Bender (x2) Rolfes, Träsch und Can (U17) behind them, which means again we have 8 great playersfor 1 or 2 positions.

This is he first time our national coach has so many avaibable people to select, a problem which other coaches would love to have, except the spanish one. So the next step for the German National Team can just be to win Spain, or in better words to win soon a big title.

That’s all, for now.

Re: German football has a promissing future...

Nice post.
Spain will be almost 0 after Xavi and Iniesta's retirement. They were 0(no results in national cups, european or world) until those guys came to make football nice for Spain(i'm only referring to national level, Spain was always on top when it comes to football clubs). Germany never had great individuals but always was a team and confirmed their status. I like their play style and i'm putting my money on them at the next european championship.
In the next 20 years or in the next 200 years Germany will not have some incredible names, like today, but will be at the top...like always.
Its players are the proof of hard work, discipline, strength, intelligence and modesty.
A BIG GOOD GAME FOR GERMANY.

Can't be humble in the jungle....

I don't think german players are underestimated, germans always had and have strong school, stable appearances in cups like WC 2002 2006 2010 proves that. Gotze really nice player, how old he is, 19-20? last time I saw his skills, was in youtube, some months ago, and he stuck in my memory, now a bit stopped tracking the young promising players, also remember one from Georgia Zhano Ananidze 18 years. Also Podolski, Schweinsteiger, they still are not done, will be fun to watch germans in UEFA, in WC, Euro, along with the top dutch and english players

I would teach you how to play, but I don't know myself!

French players, for football, are very overestimated.
