waffen means actually just "weapons", it would be different if the name would be "Waffen SS"

For my personal taste, i am against any kind of such behaviar, since i can't understand how smo could find something like this "funny, cool, or whatever". In that time arround 50-55 million people did die, no matter on which side. So any kind of gloryfieing this time with which typical word out of it is totally missplaced.

Especially many polish people still associate the german people still with it, even if nobody was alive from us germans at this time. Nearly any Nation has a dark time in his history, and it doesn't matter how much time has gone past, nearly any nation is guitly.

And everyone who glorifies that, should inform hisself once exactly, which pains many millions of people had to suffer, only because of power greed of certain sovereigns, whichever origin.

It is very arduous to discuss this in details, in addition it would be hardly possible in here, but it should be clear, that we should not tolerate such behavior.

Ok guys. The man, with whom taurus had flame was me (I am not USSR, I started conversation with him after his offence on this player).

Sandis (aka Jesus, aka Taurus), U was one of the 1st my mates here and we always were in good relationship. I didn't know that it was U, so I am really sorry for my offense on U. I thought it was newbie kid that's why I was a bit rude. Sorry one more time dude. BUT!

1. U 1st started this flame. And U didn't ask him to change it, U said that this nick means war. Sorry, but it's silly. USSR was a country. Yes I also don't like Stalin, Lenin and etc. But there were much more custom citizens, not fcking goverment rats. If your father made smth bad it doesn't mean that it's your fault too. And also people don't have to answer for goverment. The same situation now U can see in Ukraine, where goverment is made from idiots and 80% of people hate them too. But goverment, not people, steal gas, sell weapons to Georgia and etc. So U should to hate Ukraine's goverment, not Ukraine in whole.

2. U was talking about things which U didn't see. Like me. At least I remember 1991, U are younger than me and I don't think U can remember that situation. U was talking that your parents remember all. Yes that's should be true. But I also have friends with parents and even relatives in Latvia/Estonia. And they don't have smth against USSR, some of them even would be glad to return all.

3. I didn't call U latvian nazi, I just ask U. Why? Cause I met such ppl and don't even want to talk with them, cause their brain is fucked up by goverment.

4. U said that in Europe think in the same way like in Latvia about USSR. It was main lol for me. Why? Cause do U remember situoation about war vs Georgia in august of 2008? Most of Europe thought that Russia attacked Georgia! And it took one year for them to understand that Georgia first attacked Tskhinval and destroy whole city with peace inhabitants! Some people whom I know were there as soldiers and they saw what fcking georgian army made with that city. But Europe didn't want too see it for a long time and thought that Russia is aggressor.

5. Yes in USSR was a lot of different shit. But looks like there were also many good points of why so many ppl want to return at that times? U don't like USSR for Stalin, Brezhniv, Lenin? Hm, I guess me too. But it isn't a point to offense someone. Or may be we should ban Equilibrium cause he has soviet elements on avatar? Or we should ban romanian players, cause Romania had Ceausescu and don't unban till they will change their flags? I am agree that ppl who use nicks of tyrants should be kicked. But not cause they use name of ex-country. Cause country is a lot of ppl with culture but not few tyrants with power.

I agree with most of the points raised here, and while I find there is always some "nationalistic" name that is offensive to SOMEONE, it's on the basis of relations between two countries who have a checkered history For example players from any Baltic nation and players from Russia are going to have issues with patriotic or Nationalistic names used between them, much like how Greeks feel about, say, Turkish players using Nationalistic names Although these are wild examples, they're the best I can think of at the moment.

I think another interesting point this thread raises is that you never know who's behind a fakenick That's why I almost always play with my main name, or otherwise a name everyone knows.

If everyone's had their say I will lock and move on. The thread can actually be considered as having a positive message thus far, and I'd like to close off all possibility of someone retarded destroying that.
