Well - I would be really glad to see a new spawn system as its annoying to get killed in freeze just on spawn but what concerns me is that it should be possible to enable/disable with some cvar ... couse lets take for example dm17 - if the new system works as rena said (spawn farthest from enemy) it could be even worse than with standart system, couse if u know that oponent will spawn possible far - then ur chances to guess the place where he is going to appear will dramatically increase. It would work like that only on open maps with all spawnpoints visible, but u got the point

i been experementing with using armour as a spawn protection, start with amount that decreases over short time, can still fire but protected from all attacks, but one major problem...
when on dm17 you spawn and end up getting railed off the map Happy

DM17 has a specific spawn system and those who know it know what Im talking about.All u gotta do is randomize that system and u wont be able to know where the enemy will spawn,for example if ur camping on upper platform like most 1v1 players do or mid platform make spawn system such that enemy always spawns below u for example.Some players also jump from platform to platform spamming at spawn points,so if it could be possible to determine spawn point based on enemy location or when he hits the ground with his 2 feet that could solve the problem.That would make spawnkilling impossible.. almost.And im not sure if spawn systems can be done "per map".

I knowz, and platform switchers are annoying as hell. Maybe even more than red armor campers Laughing which used to be me. I have another system for 17 now because of the spawn system... which I don't think is nearly as annoying as the other two "strategies".

Spawnkilling even happens in Promode. Just not as quickly. Haha. You get an extra 2-3 seconds, if the person is really on your ass. Not really much you can do - I see it like this, if I can instarail someone and kill them as soon as I spawn, I'm not gonna complain about them being able to do it to me.

It's just people who WAIT for it that I find annoying as hell Love struck

q3dm12 sucks...It is so damn boring.As .DA|DEEZ. said,many many times this map ends only with timelimit.And I remember many times I get spawn killed or killed in the middle of a round and wait frozen for an eternity.Whenever this map comes on beer freezer rotation I prefer to disconnect.

q3dm14 Has absolutely nothing to offer.Only at quad someone may have some fun.The rooms have nothing to offer to a good gameplay.Many ways an enemy may appear,too small rooms...Omg,I just hate this map

But I really love q3dm6.Is one of the reasons quake was better than classic UT Big grin .It is simply a great map with very good "philosophy" and this is proven from the tricks have been performed there.It is my favorite map but I am not so good there.In fact,I suck in this map but I adore the whole scenery and gameplay ;]

*EDIT*

dm17 is a great map for 1vs1 even though people who know the respawn places are in a great advantage.I do not like freeze,tdm and any other gametype there Sleepy .It is like it was made for 1vs1 only Winking

DM17 is the greatest map ever, but it does fuck me up

The simplicity is what makes it so appealling. Personally if I could, I would ha ve made 100 spawn points on the map so at least you have a chance to shoot back at a professional spawn raper

you would like the map called octagon, it has teh same flow as dm17 but not as spawnasty
