Hey guys. Wondered if anyone could help with my problem. I recently got a new monitor. It's a Samsung snycmaster 275T 27" LCD.

Before i got this monitor i had a 20" viewsonic. I have played with 800x600 since starting quake. Since switching to this new monitor i seem to be playing really bad. My rail aim really sucks too. If i use 800x600 it completely fills the screen. But this screen is a 16:10 widescreen so it must be squashing the image somehow and affecting my aim?

I have tried using widescreen resolutions but then it doesn't fill the screen, i can see my desktop at the sides still (no i'm not using windowed mode).

The only way i can use widescreen is if i use the native resolution of 1900x1200 but then everything is tiny. Text on screen and players are small too.

I also tried running 800x600 and using the sizedown command but i found the box outside the edge really distracting and it made my play worse.

Can anyone offer some help/suggestions/advice? Get 800x600 working correctly or let me play at a smaller widescreen res like 1152x864 or something?
