after playing osp again and changing settings etc, i recognized that my crosshair (i also belive all other crosshairs too) crosshair in osp and baseq3 looks much better then in e+.

after some searching i found this thread out of the middle ages

seeing ratz also found that out ages ago.
since i couldnt find any fix yet, i tested a bit out and it seems that the cgame.qvm file in the vm folder of pak0.pk3 and pak3.pk3 is causing it.
any ideas how to fix that thing?
if its impossible then i would like to see it fixed in 1.04

Yes I found this a long time ago and its extremly annoying for me also cause I have to use r_texturemode GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST and a rectangle crosshair,which all together looks like crap.The problem is very obvious on dot crosshair,more obvious then on others.I spoke with easy about it and its caused by e+ using low resolution (vanilla IIRC) crosshairs,easy said he will write down high res crosshairs on his "to do list".Now,will we have them in 1.04 or in the release after that,I cant tell u.

Hm did i miss smth? I'm using a white dot crosshair and i can see it/play with it fine. What's exactly the problem with the dot crosshair?

check out the link i posted, ratz posted their pics, both crosshairs are playable, but osp/baseq3 crosshair is easier to see etc and looks a lot better
also my screens show that on another crosshair.

one simple question, is it possible to rewrite the cgame.qvm file, or is it allowed to delete and still have all other e+ features?

btw, why the hack does e+ uses low quality crosshairs? ._.

If u never played in OSP (old OSP,not CPMA) it may seem ok,but once u try the dot from OSP u dont wanna go back to e+ Happy
Whats wrong with it? Its fuzzy,blurry and semi-transparent compared to OSP's thick and sharp crosshair.It gets more obvius on sizes 40 and larger,50-60.On OSP's crosshair if u use larger size the sharpness increases and it looks even better while on e+ its totally opossite,crosshair looks crappier and crappier wih size increments.

so you think the crosshair quality in those pics has any effect in your gaming ? Lol
I think the quality of coffee drunk would make a bigger differance

I see you are only talking about comfyness Happy though if does seem odd that most run ultra low gfx and then want a crystal clear dot in the middle

LoL wax,like I said,try it before commenting on it,u cannot know what skull and I are talking about (screens dont show half of the difference which u will feel when playing in both mods).Yes I do think it makes it much easier to see (the crosshair) and also makes it easier to aim.

PS
If I would have high res crosshair I would very likely switch to a better quality picmip as well.

i have dabbled with osp over the years and recall the crosshair being more solid with a better defined edge , im just saying i dont think it actualy will translate into more frags

But its 2v1 and and your view is always valid imo ratz Happy

Heh..more frags aint the only reason I would want high res dot in e+.When I tried OSP I couldnt play with the dot from e+ anymore so now Im playing on lower r_texture mode which makes ur dot sharp but its no longer a dot,its a rectangle Happy Thats also why Id like to see it fixed
