thanks for the replies guys...

1st to address MoeDe: this is more reactionary to the E6.cfg which was developed by part of the e5 community and is being touted as the next config to be used in a new league, which has resulted in the split of clans to the acceptance of the config. I accept that probably most of the stuff doesnt need to be changed, so thats why i am trying to see what peoples opinions are on the new suggestions.

I'm trying to stay true to excessive as possible and what some of the community would want to see with the progression of this great mod. I'm sorry you dont see this as being excessive anymore, but I feel it might be needed, just like bro cfg evolved to plus,nh and other configs

the guys that agree with moede, to my understanding that some of you actually helped in the creation of the e6 config, but it depends on which points you agree with him, so I can not comment on your decision to agree with him... but I will take it as people wanting to keep e5 config and not confuse it. It is a hard time of transition, and we all see change as moving in different ways.

hi mow, thanks for your interest in this as i know you have experience of development of a config... I have actually tested settings on a server (see seth's post), mostly they are tweaks on the original settings and I do realise the difference it makes.

although I have not had much experience in pants, I have played sod/e/e+/bro for years, mostly in e+ but I have stayed away from community life as it has always been volitile. The point of this new development is to move forward and not back, and i dont mean any disrespect but e3 would defeat the purpose (I know you meant it as a joke)

The development will continue, if the community accepts the end product it is up to them, but the more input I get from everyone the better.

but where is the prob?

as e+ is so much customisable, and as long a config is based on a rank config, u can rank it. U can go ur way, and if people support you, good, its ok, but i dont c any point to denie a couple of clans who would love to play more a oldstyleconfg for rank.

where is the problem. all argues on the discussion thread were untill now just based on egoistic points.

and i am pretty sick meanwhile of the egoistic persons in this mod, who just look for own advantage...

(this is not refered to you ronin, but this thread seams to be higher leveled as the discussion thread)

sorry, the problem arised when the e6 config was to have its own league, i dont mind people playing the e6 config, and good luck to them, but it left the rest of us disapointed (for different reasons)

e6 was developed and is said to reward people with aim and skill, so I am trying to develop this as a compromise... it will reward aim and skill (hopefully) without the disadvantages. I can see why e6 is becoming popular, but to me it seems like it is an excessive3r.cfg (hopefully most people will understand that)

to me there are lots of problems with the e5 config, even if people dont admit it, i'm sure they feel the same too, but i won't stop playing it, and i'm sure everyone will continue to enjoy it.

this is a project where i want to have something that rewards aim and skill with fluid movement.

if people want to use this config when it is finished as part of a league, then i will be happy, but if not, its fine its just something I want to raise awareness for because the e6 league seems to be seperating the e5 community.

main problems i see are:
nade spam
bfg not rewarding air/accurate shots but splash damage shots
virtually useless rail
mg strength

points that i want to push forward:
speed with gauntlet (to make it more usable)
medium speed and power rail (again to make it more useful)
initial bfg hit strength (to reward the air bfg shots)

I understand that switch-time is a problem, but aim and skill should be enough to compensate that, especially for clans with good tactics

Sup Ronin, well im not a E5/E5r player but i enjoy playing it because of the fast pace. I agree with some of your ideas. It would be good idea to make your config require more accuracy. Mg less accuracy at distance is a good idea and maybe less splash with LG would force people to aim more. Also a reasonable switch time + Also ammo limits might be a good idea. anyway good luck with it Cool

so, ronin, my promise, if u find a way to make a bfg with more accuracy (means not splashdamageaffected and mmovement stays untouched), i am willed, really willed, and thats a promise! to pay u 200 euro via paypal.!!!!!!

sry i really dont wanna be offensive and if u want make an own cfg sure its ok...but after that sentence above in qoute...sry but i only can laugh on it. Cause its no matter how many things u will change in that cfg. It will be still switch abuse aka spam.. So ur work will be useless imo.

sup reno my london friend Happy I am trying to keep this config as the fast paced game that we expect in e5, the accuracy with mg over distance is a component that needs discussion

mg less acc over distance advantage- less camp with mg, really only useful in middle distance shooting
mg more acc over distance advantage- to compensate the loss of rapid fire rail and usable at any distance

what do people think? and what are the other advantages, and what would be more acceptable?

mow... i will try my best with the tweaks to get it right and i appreciate your offer, but i'm doing this for the community. i think there are others that are more deserving of the money.

explosive, i'm sorry that i did not completely explain myself, i am willing to change the switch time to restrain the abuse, but i want to keep it as fluid as possible, but i hope you don't expect to see baseq3 switch times.

even if this does turn out to be a useless project, at least I will know that i have tried to take in the community's expectations and try to deliver an end product that is useable

Idea k my oppinion:
I realy see some cool dias in your post man.
Arrow I like what u think about mg, and granades
Arrow about bfg and sg ilike how they are in e5, maiby less splash damage in bfg
Arrow about lg i realy think that lg isnt too much powerfull in e5, i dont think that need be decreased
Arrow about Rocket Launcher, i realy think that it dont have future.

One thing that we must think is that must me guns 4 all distances.
4 example: sg:short, lg:medium and mg:big distance, sure that u have it in youd brain Tongue

Ideal config from my angle of view:

gauntlet - plus.cfg + your idea

machinegun - plus.cfg + your good idea

shotgun - i like e5 shotgun. So its reversed. More damage, faster rate of fire

grenade launcher - like in plus.cfg

rocket launcher - more damage and faster projectiles. This weapon is not in e5 and in plus.cfg is useless because of slow projectiles speed and low damage (and aprox rate of fire). In some configs has this weapon damage like rail (one shot, one kill) and if projectiles (rockets) will be faster than in plus.cfg, weapon will be useful for short range combat. BTW spread damage of this weapon must be low. Must be visible difference between RL and BFG.

other weapons can be the same like in plus.cfg but railgun can have slower rate of fire and config can use weaponswitch -1

one question to end.... What do you think about decrease number of multijumps to 2 or 3?

para thanks for your support as always, the initial hit from bfg was 125 and splash damage is 200, so i have turned it to 200 for initial hit and 75 for splash, the knockback is adjusted to compensate (thanks mow for pointing that out)

mg is although more accurate, it is slightly weaker, grenades are now at 150 for direct hit and 75 for splash damage (yes, the knockback is compensated Tongue)

sg i had to slow down just a tiny bit because the new rail is at a similar speed, don't worry i still think its awesome. any tweaks will have to come from after we tested it online with e5 players

although rockets are fun, I am seriously considering scrapping them unless we can find a use for them

hey beazt, thanks for your post, although my config is and excessive config, it wont be based on the plus.cfg, but rather the excessive5.cfg which is played in the official servers and will be made for the players who play mostly there, so I won't be including things like multijumps

but thanks for recommending the plus config as a comparison... Winking
