Hi,

As requested by many players and server admins, here are the custom ents files having the following features :

  • All previous spawnpoints on the maps are kept intact.
  • New spawnpoints have been added.
  • CTF, RTF and 1FCTF compatibility for all baseq3 maps.
  • Grouped teams spawn compatible
  • No more air spawns (except q3dm4 and q3dm14 : they have few on very hidden places)

To install :
extract the zip into excessiveplus/maps folder

How to enable/disable :
use the command xp_noCustomEnts disable the ents file
or
define a specific rotation like following :

xp_noCustomEnts : "1"
 
q3dm8
 
q3dm7 {
  xp_noCustomEnts : "0"
}
 
q3dm11
 
q3dm6 {
  xp_noCustomEnts : "0"
}
Here, the custom ents are disabled by default for all map except the ones having xp_noCustomEnts : "0"

Servers actually having those ents for test are :
NXS Freeze
FFA.OR.NOONE
|ZoO|Attraction CTF/RTF/1FCTF
!B@N@N@ 1vs1 Railonly
!B@N@N@ CTF Railonly
!B@N@N@ CW/FW/Train Private Server

I haven't got any feedback yet, so I suppose all like them and for all maps ?

If you find a spawn inapropriate, pls post exact location (map/room/details) so it could be fixed.

i only recognized some of the new spawns at ffa or noone and all of them which are high up in the air bothered me.. especially on spacemaps..

maybe it is a thing of taste but i want to spawn on the floor, so i can move right on.. when starting in the air one is limited to low speeds and no weaponmovements.. and this doesnt feel right for excessive plus

but it seems all who like this server liked the spawns so dont mind my rumbling

Man, can you help me pls removing "bad air spawns" that you don't like by telling me what maps are you talking about and what what air spawn exactly.

I admit some air spawns aren't so cool, but some hidden like on q3dm4 seems cool.

And it isn't always a bad thing to spawn in the air (players don't see upper of themself to check if some1 coming) Big grin

as i said i dislike all air spawns on open maps/space maps because it limits the movability and slows one really down.. but maybe thats a thing of taste..

so i cant help you single out some bad air spawns since i totally dislike the airspawnconcept on open maps

the baseq3 ents will be released today I think without air spawns and with more ctf spawns.

if you have a constructive suggestion, pls say it.

yeah, they totally suck Confused especially when you spawn above a jumppad: you fall, then you jump - can't aim properly, more over, you're an easy target while you're in mid-air. for example, dm17 becomes totally unplayable, imo.
maybe it was a bad idea to create new spawn points

Forgot to say, you can already test some maps on !B@N@N@ 1vs1 Railonly or !B@N@N@ CTF Railonly or |ZoO| Attraction CTF/RTF/1FCTF because they have callvote map enabled :

changes:

  • removed the gametype filter from ctf spawns to prepare for upcoming teamed spawns.
  • added q3ctf1 to q3ctf4 so you can remove all previous q3* .ents and .add files.

This is my final release till there are new needs.
changes :
* "shitty spawns" removed.

If you don't test those new spawns you don't know what you miss.
