Problems with monitor in q3

I have some damn problem with monitor during the game. It sometimes becomes absolute black! It doesn't switch off just becomes black for 2-3 seconds.

in quake 4 i dont see any multiplayer server thou i got legal cd key from spider.

anyone know any ways to fix that?
cant join even by manualy typing ip adress
