just because you asked before - i would like a one hit rail very much - excessive5r.cfg is imo best cfg Big grin

Here now, my final post about this topic.

As i saw now the incredible refusal, i would say, the old switchtime come back.

It is true, that the mass of players can't really handle the new switchtime, but the argues about movement sucks, fit's just to CTF and just on the way bfg to nade, not nade to bfg. Externelbug's post would fit for me. The damage of mg and lg should get reduced. The actual setting is not weak enough. The settings of x-nature are good i think, not to weak Happy

The thing with mg and lg is, since all servers are unlagged, everybody can handle mg and lg, u don't need to train it anymore to get a good lg and mg skill, that's what also claned people don't like.

Whatever, if so many are against the new switchtime, i would say, good that it is changed back (even the time is to short to show u all, how to handle x-nature).

Many posts in this topic are just egoistic, nobody said "we", most are saying just "i". The time of life of excessiveplus is to short to set through big changes, Q4 comes out soon, and everybody should know what happend with Q1 when Q2 came out and with q2 as q3 came out.

Also many posts in this thread are just superficial, no background, just posted as in pack, without own opinion.

Well we changed the settings. Currently we are testing a new switchtime mode that is only available in the DEV version.

You now have instant weapon switch plus instant weapon shoot. It's a combination of the both old switchtimes but still you cannot abuse it and shoot twice as fast with a weapon.

BFG to SG change for example is now instant.

Mowly tnx for reading post . we play (talking for most of X ) with no mg or rare .. but lg i play a lot and sh too .. and we are convinced if lower lg and MG e7.cfg will be the best for long time ..

now another switch time, i dont like it because when i jump with nade and quick change to bfg than bfg shot it self, and sometimes i got a fealing like some kind of lag or delay, when my bfg should be ready it is not...

i think switshtime should be the fastest possible. this the best way for players to demonstrate their talent. It just gives u more options and how u use these options shows how talented you are..

As for weapons damage, i think there should be a good weapons balancing. If you keep bringing mg/lg down and down, then at the end u make them useless. the right approach is to have many weapons available for many diffrent situations. if u make lg/mg too weak then u end up with a situation where u have 9 weapons but most of them are useless and everyone just uses nades+bfg. this was the problem with early pants. No one ever used lg, sg, etc cuz they knew they couldnt win with them. SO at the end it was just nade jumps and bfg (maybe some mg in space maps i guess). That becomes boring after a while i think (a month?).

Conclusion: I think best approach is to make all weapons powerful enough to win a game (=enjoyable). From then on its just the combinations u make that make the winning difference and you personal preferences and skills with each weapon of course..

How does it show you are more talented Worried. Doesn't make sence to me to have lucky kills by fast switching and now you can just go in with any weapon without thinking about what can happen cuz you can switch instantly anyway. Thinking is a part of the skill too. With slow weapon switch if you think fast enough it should be no problem trying to find out what to use when. I have hardly any probs with it atleast. The options are actually limited by fast weapon switch as it was in v.005 because only to mg and lg switch was fast.
