u can fit other ram but u need to put it in pairs and it is better to buy the same ram u have because slower will slow down and faster wont make difference or go for a new fast ram but check what ram your motherboard accept
plus u need to put pairs in slots 1-3 and 2-4 i think and it is better to heve pairs exacly the same,
dont u have a book from dell?

Dell

Problem with dell now a days, is that dell makes there own motherboards and ram, so buying some ram may not work proper in that system or even swapping ram from another dell, because even it's the same model it depends on when it was built.

Best bet is do a good google research on the RAM U have now and see if there is an equal thats cheaper. Or find some used RAM for that model.

Thats why i never buy dell, it's fast and easy but pay the price later with there custom parts and all.

When dell first started they would buy third party stuff...what ever gave them a good deal..so it wasn't bad to find RAM or parts for machine...but they found its easy for them to make there own to there own specs. so they never have to worry about hardware issues and it's easier to track them down.

Hope that helps in some small way Happy Happy
