on the discussion with metal... i think the linkin parks hybrid theory album was brilliant... (could've done better ofcourse) but their next album sucked arse....

but i must disagree with you darklord... i find bands with the word "fuck" or "death" or "rape" or "blood" repeated in their lyrics (and possibly band name)
don't have a big enough imagination to be worth listening to, it can take 5minutes to think up a song full of swear words and anti-existance words (if that made sense) but to make a song with words that wouldn't offend the majority of our population is much more difficult, and also heavy/death metal is not the smartest music, cramming as many beats into a bar as possible (just enough to tell the differance between each one,occasionally not), real music would be the stuff made from the genius's of music, e.g. eric clapton,
jimmi hendrix and such, if you try listening to Manu Chao or BECK, that is a good example of great imagination.

but you talking about music to listen to while playing; i find queens of the stone age/soad/nightwish are very good (anything fast, but not so fast that you can't hear people walking past you on quake)
