I am glad to hear that you made it back safe and sound.

I have no fear of death it just means dreaming in silence.......

very facintating to read what u wrote, i had a relative to my who also was in iraq(i think) maybe something similar but anyway, he was extremly unlucky. Under a missile attack, he accidently was 1 feet away from where the missile hit.. and got blown to peaces, a real tragedy it was all over the news. Anyway what i was wondering was, how is it to be down their knowing that you might not wake up tommorrow due to something similar like i just told.. Isnt that really hard to swallow? Or do you not think about that at all?

Welcome back btw Big grin

very good question ! i was gonna ask the same.

At first I thought about it a lot. Then after a few weeks the feelings of death just faded. The only real danger for me was travelling on the open roads with roadside bombs all over the place. Sometime I would stay at a camp and there would be small arms fire or even motar attacks.

Sometimes I had a lot of fun because of the people I got to help. Sure I made friends and heard from time to time when and where I lost them. It's a shame that thier lives were lost but I know they did it honor and commitment to their fellow man. All the military is like that, from the US, Austrailia, Polish, & British Military.

It was almost like playing a game sometimes, I can't count the many times I thought of playing Quake with you guys while out there on a patrol. However for every bad thing that happened there were many good things that out weighed the bad.

I am glad that I had the opportunity to go. It was an expierence I will never forget. I am just as glad to be home now with my family and you guys. :thumbleft:
