empty cd-key to hide cheats ?

I wanted to get some points here from server admins and people who knows correctly how works pb.

Here the problem :

I was playing against a guy (music@mp3) who played very well and fragged me several times with amazing rail shot. We were 3 on the server and the 3rd guy told me that music@mp3 was a cheater and that he knew him... after some frags i wanted to check by enabling pb, then music@mp3 got kicked for empty-cd key...

I disabled pb then he music@mp3 reconnected, i asked him if he cheated, then he called me noob, i enabled pb and he got kicked again for same reason.

My question is easy, can you hide a cheat behind an empty cd-key... the problem is that i don't know 1 skilled guy who don't get a cd-key to play with.... and i know many many players...what do you think about this guy ?

Now for myself, does pb scans first for other stuff then for cd-key and guid ? Does wrong guid and empty cd key are same for pb and guidrelax ?

I am 99% sure that PB will kick first for empty CD key, as it kicks people right away when you turn it on, but it usually takes a minute or two for it to detect a cheat. So yeah, I guess having an empty CD key could hide a cheat somewhat.

Enter this in ur bans.txt and nobody with empty or unknown key can join ur server, works great on 2!S-Servers.
