yo

i have a prob wiht ym cfg .. seems the r_picmip dont work any more since i anstalled servise pack 2 on my windows

any ideas guys?

set r_picmip in baseq3 as well.

and then set it up in e+ again

should work then.

Check your graph chip settings. I have updated some day a driver of it and then I had the same problem. Gragh chip forced my quake to use always picmip 1 whereas I wanted to have it at 10.

Try to change different settings and test it a bit. I had something like profiles for specific games. Or maybe just set all graphic to default in driver and see then.

there should be an option for prefered texture details. both nvidia drivers and ati drivers have it (at least they did when i had both cards).

there are presets like "speed" and "quality" etc. make a custom preset which uses "game settings". that way the drivers wont owerwrite your game settings.

From my experience, you need a few things to make r_picmip stick. One is you have to have the correct r_lastrender either blank or the correct graphics card. The other is that r_mode has to be before r_picmip in you autoexec. Give these two things a try, if not heres a script to run at connect:

bind backspace "r_picmip 10; vid_restart"
